Well...news and such
I'm moving in with this really awesome dude in a bit. Halfway there, actually. He's like a long lost brother, we're so alike. I was forced to move cause my little bro up and got married recently, and moved out of our apartment.
I've started writing more, which really really makes me happy. Working on a kid's story right now. When its somewhat more finished I'll post some of it. Or all of it.

There are way too many cute girls in the south, and I feel like I'm totally not in my best looking phase. But I'm working on it! Lost 10 pounds last month, working to get down to about 150.

Sometimes...I really miss living in Vegas.

Been a while since I've written anything. I'm lame like that.

I had a great day today, really great. A friend's brother was graduating, and there was a small get together party. Hung out with people for a few hours, then on to church. We usually go out to eat after that, but we were all still pretty full. At least I was. Ended up at a Raising Cane's, a little chicken strip place. I just hung out, then on to Starbucks. After getting home...man. I got hit with a bad case of the lonlies. I really hate that.

Seems like I just can't get that feeling to go away sometimes. And I really want to get into a relationship one of these days. I was sorta seeing this one girl, but it fell apart. I hang out with some really cool girls, but its not the same. The fact that my little bro is getting married in two weeks doesn't really help. heh.

In other news, I'm hoping to hear from a local library I applied at a few weeks ago. Its full time, which means I'll have to leave the eyeglass place. Which I wouldn't mind all that much. Its a good job, but I can't take much more of the supervisor's crap. He's really bipolar and not good at dealing with people at all.

I think this fills my quota of whiny blogging for a while.

Um. I officially am trying to get back into school. And maybe get a house. How are you?

Today was one of those "I WANT TO KILL YOU ALL" days.

One of the opticians gave me an order for some glasses, with bifocal lenses in the tray. I am supposed to check and make sure that is exactly what is ordered, but I didn't. After getting done, I realized the order sheet specified progressive (no-line bifocals). So I pulled some of those lenses, and redid the order. When I was done with that, the optician got back from lunch. I told her what had happened, since the order was now late.
She said, no, they were supposed to be bifocals, and there was another order sheet. There was..folded and inside the first sheet. Luckily, still had the first lenses, so we put those into the frames.
Half an hour later, another optician brings the order back. Someone dropped the tray, and chipped the left lens.

Here's what you do!

1. Pick 20 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDB, find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them in a note for EVERYONE to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDB search functions. That's cheating and it ruins the fun.

Quote time!

1.You are the brute squad! The Princess Bride-- Jennie Got it
2. No, sir! I didn't see you playing with you dolls again SPACEBALLS --famousamy!--Also Maryam got it!
3. My name... is Horace!
4. I was the last one left after the nuclear holocaust, eh. The whole world had been destroyed, like U.S. blew up Russia and Russia blew up U.S. Fortunately, I had been offworld at the time. There wasn't much to do. All the bowling alleys had been wrecked. So's I spent most of my time looking for beer.
5. For the last time... I command you, in the name of all that is evil... budge! Budge! Sinbad of the Seven Seas Rivikah gets it!-- Maryam got it too!
6. Say! Any of you guys know how to Madison?
7. I tried to capture the spirit of the thing
8. SMELL BAD! Labyrinth --Jennie got it!
9. C'mon, it's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like going into Wisconsin.
10. We're sorta like 7-Eleven. We're not always doing business, but we're always open
11. Hey! What're you kicking me for? You want me to ask? All right, I'll ask! Ma'am, where do the high school girls hang out in this town?
12. Paranoids, Matrix Blaster, Vice Squad, a whole slew of them. I was this close to starting my own little enterprise, man. But enter another software engineer. Not so young, not so bright, but very very sneaky. Ed Dillinger. So one night, our boy Flynn, he goes to his terminal, tries to read up his file. I get nothing on there, it's a big blank. Okay, now we take you three months later. Dillinger presents Encom with five video games, that's HE'S invented. The slime didn't even change the names, man! He gets a big, fat promotion. And thus begins his meteoric rise to - -what is he now? Executive VP? Tron-- Grishny got it on facebook
13. They're watching Snow White. And they love it. Gremlins --famousamy again!
14. I can't believe you like money too. We should hang out.
15.And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire.. Office Space Rivikah gets it!-And Maryam on Rinkworks got it too!
16. Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming
17. You homo sapiens and your guns
18. Are you insane? This is Hitler's car
19. Excuse me! Pardon me, beg your pardon, if you two kids would stop singing for just a moment I've got something I want to discuss with you. Little Shop of Horrors! -- Yay for Nessa!
20. Leave the gun. Take the cannoli. The Godfather-- Jennie again!

If you saw me in a police car, what would you think I got arrested for?
Answer me, then if you want, post to your own journal and see how many crimes you get accused of.

Or close. I'm going hunting in Colorado! Well, camping cause I don't have a license. I didn't know I could go until a week or so ago. Oh well. I'm going for the camping, the fishing, and some unencumbered thinking. Bringing a nice empty notebook and a few pens. If anything cool comes across my mind, I'll post it here.
Leaving on Friday, so be thinking of me then.

So, looks like New Orleans is gonna get wiped out again. Dang. I haven't been down there since Katrina, but have been meaning to get down there.
At least the evacuations and things like that seem to be going better this time. I hope we don't lose the city. Its a great place. Despite all the boozing, and the girls flashing their boobs and all..its still a great place.

Its been a while. But hiya

I'm going to give blood this weekend. Or at least try to. Its been a year since I got my tattoo, so I should be able to. I think I'm going to make it a regular thing. Until I get some more ink! hehe

Trying to find a part time job. I was working at Domino's as a delivery guy. But it sucked and I didn't make enough money. Applied at a library, and will pick up apps for some other places this weekend.

Girls are weird, and I can't tell when one likes me. Apparently I'm 15 again.

Post 3 things you've done in your lifetime that you don't think anybody else on your friends list has done.

See if anybody else responds with "I've done that."

1. I got married in Vegas

2. I've been nearly attacked by a beaver whilst fishing

3. I ate gator the other week.

Man. I'm a freaking redneck.

Look at the list and bold those you have read.
Italicize those you intend to read.
Underline the books you LOVE.
Strike out the books you have no intention of ever reading, or were forced to read at school and hated.
Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read fewer than 6 and force books upon them ;-)

So, Hannah/Phan/Phanhannah was in Arkansas this weekend. Closest she's come on any tour. I figured I should go and see her. Which is what I did.
Driving up there was interesting. I haven't been to Arkansas in a long time, and never driven there. I saw a sign that said "BEAR CROSSING" which is a new one for me. And a guy in a donkey driven buggy. The worst was a guy in a dune buggy/go kart thing on the freeway. What was he thinking?
Took about 5 and a half hours to get there. I beat her team by about an hour. Then we found out they were actually in a different church in another town about ten miles away. I got a motel room and got cleaned up. She and her drama friends had to do drama planning stuff with the preacher.
The service was a teen rally with like 3 churches. Two of them did their own drama skits, which were pretty good. Then Hannah's group got to perform. The sketches were silly, goofy, awesome, and moving, in that order. I think there were more than 4, so count silly and goofy twice. About 5 kids made decisions for God that night.
Hannah and I got to chat for about an hour while the service was closing down. They all were going to Denny's, but I was tired as heck so I went back to the hotel. There were a bunch of college track kids or something there, and they were up all night being stupid. Someone called my room at 1 am. So I unplugged it.
The drama company had a service at 10:30, so I went to the first church and watched it. They did different sketches, which were again, funny/silly/goofy/awesome/moving. She even sang a little bit in one, which was cool. We once again hung out while they sold shirts and talked with others in the church.
Then we had to go. It was about 1:30, and I knew I had to get going. So I gave Hannah a bunch of chat transcripts I've been promising her. Gave her a BIG HUG, and said our goodbyes.
So, home now and tireds. But it was so worth it.

Well, no one threatened me today! Yay! Unless you count my brother/roommate/heterosexual life mate, Danny.
I am slowly, slowly, relearning the guitar. And bass. Which is easier, cause its just one note a time you lazy slob. heh.
I am rapidly losing a battle against sleep, so quick story! About...my mom!
She and my aunt-the one who passed away nearly a year ago, damn-would call each other a few times a week. Real close and all. Every time my mom would call her, she'd have to look up the number in her address book. So I asked mom, "How long has Evelon had that number? About 20 something years? Haven't you memorized it yet!" She just laughed..and looked up the number again. Moms...they stick with what they know.
