Friday, got up at like 4 a.m. to catch my 6 o'clock flight to Denver. The line was huge since TSA people weren't even there yet. Finally got through it all, and was on my way. Once in the airport in Denver, I was deciding if I should just go tot he hotel now or wait around until some of the other rinkies showed up. But I was kind of unsure about when that would be happening, so I caught the shuttle to the hotel. I was the only one there, of course. My name wasn't on any of the reservation stuff, but the hot chick at the counter said I could store my stuff in a room when it was ready. So I left my stuff there, and walked to target to get something to eat. After a small pan pizza, I was ready to head back. I wandered around for an hour or two, played on the hotels computer, and read some books.
Then ahmoacah showed up at around 3. We talked, checked into the room, and took showers. Then she hooked up her laptop and played around with MegaHal, which was fun. We sat around and talked about people and wondered when anyone else was gonna show up. We made some popcorn in the wimpy microwave, and it took a long itme. I took a couple of trips to the lobby to see, but alas, you people were not there. Then around 6ish, we both went out, and Stephen was standing at the counter! And there was Dave and Carrie! We talked for a few minutes, and they were wondering if we had seen Enigma. He was apparently lost somewhere. They then left to do something. A few mintues later, Enigma came! He said quick hellos and rushed up to his room for a reason I think he could explain better, since I kinda forgot. We hung around for a while and watched the growing crowd of other people at the hotel. Enigma-or John-brought out his Australian doo-hickey that Crocodile Dundee used in the second movie to "make a phone call". Then he brought out his bowed saltry, or however its spelled. It was nifty, and the increasingly drunk crowd in the front of the hotel thought it was cool. later on, Mia walked right on by me. Then she came out, and walked towards us again. I said "Mia?", she said "Randy!". Then we met Ticia, Don and his beard, and their kids. Their van was having some bad transmission problems. But those kids are CUTE.
Later some others showed up in no particular order. Acutally I think it was wintermute and famous, then Sam, Leen, and Heather. Then Dave, Carrie, and Stephen showed back up. After some name calling and hugging, we went to the convention room. We sat around and talked a lot and made fun of each other. Then we went to our rooms and saw PenaltyShot and Seth for like a second, not knowing who they were. I slept on a cot that felt like it was made of spikes going into my spine. Not really, it was fine. I have a theory that Maryam and TD talk in their sleep more than when they're awake. I could not test this theory as I was asleep when they were.
Saturday we got up and ate.You know us rinkies and our food. Then we got into the room and Started the Official RU&. Seth talked about comic books, so we figured he was one of us. We were passed out items, like rocks, paper, pictures of ourselves, halloween stuff, and later foam swords. then we got up and did things, like singing a stupid song,playing a bowed saltry,putting wintermute's leg through a floor,and looking at horsie figures. Heather made Monkey Fists,but they were not made of monkeys but were cool anyway. Somewhere in the midst of thiswe went to Panera bread for food. Twas yummy. We watched Sinbad, which was completely awful in a wonderful way. Sam rewinded the first "HA!". Afterwards, we reinacted the Sinbad throwing his sword away with our foam swords.Then we hung around and were silly until we went to Casa Bonita. It was a long line, goofy magic show,and suspect mexican food. All in all, a good time. I got honey on my pants from the sopapillas. Then Dave,Stephen,Mia,Enigma, and I went through Black Barts cave and found the Ticias with PenaltyShot and Seth. Then we took off and made fun of Darien and others on the way home. Mostly Darien. A lot.
We got back to the hotel and ThePhan was there! She was very excited to see us,as we were her. We made fun of Darien, a lot. ThePhan sat back and laughed at us as we told lots of stories and jokes. PenaltyShot said that after meeting Dave, "Whammo" made a lot of sense,and we all laughed. I tried to say somethign funny at one point, and failed, and we all laughed. Then we hit the sack.
Sunday we got up, and headed out to Rocky Mountain National Park. Irode with Enigma, Mia, and Stephen. We tried to hit a bike rider guy. Or maybe I just wanted to. We were the last to leave, and the last to arrive. I had put suntan lotion on before we left, to let it set. But it didn't set properly or soemthing since it kept burning my eyes. We had fun watching Ticia's girls beat up Enigma and cooking food. We also played with the ducks that were around there. wintermute wanted to catch and grill one. Someone tried to stomp on them. ThePhan was beginning to wonder why she had come up here. I rode back with Sam, Leen, and Heather.
We got back to the hotel, and hung around. Heather had to go catch her plane, and almost had to pay $80 for a taxi ride. Instead she found out that, contrary to popular belief, busses do run on Sundays. So we said goodbye to her. I went for a swim and a dip in the spa, since I had a headache. We later got pizza in our room and Ticia joined us. TD played Mr. Bean on his laptop and it was funny. ahmo had to leave,so we said goodbye to her. Laterish, Mia and Stephen invited us up to their room to hang out. I went up since TD and Maryam were sleepy and wimps. Enigma joined as and we talked about stuff, which i can't remember since I was tired. Tehn we went to sleep.
Maryam and TD got up extra early to catch the shuttle back to the airport. I got up as they left, and got ready to go with famous and wintermute to the airport. They were awesoem in letting me go with them, so again, Thanks guys. I got in the airport to a HUGE line. A guy working there told meto go to the oversized line, since my guitar case was oversized. I did and was ready to go in five minutes. Yet another reason why guitars are cool. I wish I had brought a chord for the amp I had, but I couldn't find one. I was just bringing it home from my brother. Got on the plane, got to Dallas. had a two-hour layover.ick. Got home to Shreveport,my luggage is not there. I freak out a bit. They tell me its on the next flight, due in two hours. I decide not to wait. Also, my parents couldn't pick me up because my older brother and his family are coming to visit. So I get a cab, who charges me an arm and a leg to get home. I had to get quarters from my laundry money to finish paying him off. I clean up, and go visit my family.
